He was born to Clarence C Pitts, Sr and Juanita on December 27, 1946 in Florence, Alabama.
C.C. is preceded in death by his parents and brother Joe Pitts.
C.C. met the love of his life, Lonnie “Lulu”, at the young age of just 16 years old. They shared over 55 years of marriage. During that time they became loving parents to Shane and Lori and later he became Papaw to four grandchildren.
He spent his career driving for Roadway Express and after over 30 years of dedication he retired and spent his time enjoying his many hobbies. You could often find him and Lulu traveling in their RV headed to Enid Lake for weekends of boating and fishing. When at home he loved gardening and watching the Alabama Crimson Tide play football! C.C. will forever be remembered for accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior as a child and developing into the spiritual leader of the family. He kept Jesus as the center of his life and cornerstone of his faith. As a disciple he was a true example for his family to follow.
C.C. is survived by his wife Lulu, son Shane Pitts (Alisa), daughter Lori Welch (Danny) and grandchildren Dawson Pitts (Emilie), Jackson Pitts, Katie Welch, and Bryson Pitts. He also leaves behind siblings Ruth Walden, Johnny Pitts, and Gail Pitts.
All services for C.C. will be held at Memphis Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 pm with the funeral service starting at 2:00 pm. Following the service the family welcomes you to our reception hall for continued fellowship.
