Vaughn Samuel “Buddy” Alliston, Jr., 87, of Cordova, passed away October 1, 2021. With a winning disposition and attitude Buddy Alliston started his professional football career in Florence, Mississippi. Graduating to the Ole Miss Rebels in 1952, Buddy gained much recognition and many awards. After four years playing at Ole Miss, in 1956 Buddy was drafted by the Green Bay Packers, but decided to play for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. A successful rookie year in Canada led Buddy to join the United States Air Force then to return to professional football, joining the Denver Broncos in 1960. With great social skills and friendly disposition Buddy transferred easily into sales working for Tarkett then Schuller distributors until his retirement. As an active member of Bellevue Baptist Church Buddy will be remembered with Love by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Alliston.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Katheryne Alliston and two daughters, Sharron (Larry) Lape and Angie Alliston.
Funeral services will be held Friday October 8, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee. The family will receive friends beginning at 9 a.m.
