Bob is survived by his wife, Rowana, children: Sara Rogers of Colorado Springs, CO, Becky (Scott) Deatherage of Atoka, TN and Robert (Diana) Rogers of Knoxville, TN; siblings: Helen Elrod of Navarre, FL, David Rogers of Collierville, TN and Elizabeth Conaway of Adamsville, TN.
Bob was born on September 29, 1929 in Adamsville, TN to William Robert and Eva Phillips Rogers. He graduated from Morris Chapel High School in 1948 and was inducted into the US Army in 1951 and transferred to the US Army Reserves in 1953. He received an Honorable Discharge in January 1957. While in the Reserves, he attended Memphis State University and graduated with a BS in Education in 1958. He married Rowana Jolliff in December 1959. After moving to Memphis, Bob began working for Leader Federal Savings and Loan. For the next 50 years, he worked in real estate as a Realtor, developer, builder and general contractor. As a founding partner in Romack, he was instrumental in the development of land and new home construction in the Bartlett area. Later, he worked in automotive wholesaling and property management.
He was a generous, devoted husband and father who loved his family and who was passionate about country music. He attended First Assembly of God Church in Memphis.
Visitation will be Monday, December 17, 2018 at 9am with a funeral service starting at 10am at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens at 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN with interment to follow at Bethlehem Cemetery, Adamsville, TN. Pastor Tom Lindberg of First Assembly will officiate the funeral. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bob’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family would like to thank the Cardiac ICU staff at St. Francis Hospital for their care.
