Betty J. Montgomery

Betty J. Montgomery, 69, of Bartlett passed away Saturday Dec 7, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Montgomery and Brother T.L. Taylor. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Mrs. Montgomery is survived by her daughter Karen Kelly of California; three grandchildren Brett Gors, Kanya Richard and Dennis Kelly of California; two great-grandchildren, Renise and Maurice Richard of California; Sisters Vera Shy of Alta Dena, California; Joyce Robbins and Brother Tim Howard of Victorville, California. She retired from Pac Bell after 28 years of service, and a beloved member of Bartlett Baptist Church. As a member of the church she dedicated her time to the church choir, Operation Christmas Child and served on several teams such as the Women’s Ministry, Widows Ministry, Senior Adult Ministry and the Missions team. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Bartlett Baptist Church, 3465 Kirby Whitten Rd Bartlett, TN 38135 with the entombment to follow at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens. The family wishes memorials are sent to Mission Ministry at Bartlett Baptist Church. Repass will be held after the service at the Bartlett Baptist Church.
