Jane Mary Peacock, age 96, of Palmdale, California passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Jane was born in Lawrence, MA on October 12, 1926. When she was two years old, she was adopted by Lucy and Costello Welch of Gardiner, Maine where she was raised. Jane graduated from Gardiner High School in 1944, and was employed at Commonwealth Shoe and Leather Company for thirteen years. In 1957 she married Charles G. Peacock who was in the United States Marine Corps. After living in Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Twenty-nine Palms, California, they moved to Hinkley, California, where they settled after Charles retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow. Charles Peacock preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Jane Callan and her husband, Thomas Callan of Old Saybrook, CT, and two sons, Timothy Peacock, and Gordon Peacock and his wife, Cindy Peacock of Palmdale, California. Jane had eight grandchild, Clinton Peacock, Lauren Richards, Ryan Peacock, Kyle Shaw, Michelle Peters, Kimberly Ramcke, Rosalie Seligson and Christy Counts. She also has ten great grandchildren.
Jane worked for Rodman Home Furnishings for 19 years. She was a member of the Hinkley Senior Center. Jane was an active member of the Barstow English Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Memorial Services will be held at the Barstow Seventh-day Adventist Church on Saturday, March 4th at 3 PM.
Private viewing and burial will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, she would like donations made to the Salvation Army.
