Barbara Jeanne Long

Barbara Jeanne Long passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on August 21, 1942, she was known for her love of friends and family, opera, ballet, and the finer things life had to offer. She touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by all.

She is survived by sons Philip and Eric, grandson Philip Jr, great-grandsons Conor and Caden, and cousins Katie, Debbie, and Penny. A memorial service or celebration of life will be announced at a later date. She will be laid to rest alongside her father, Martin Sr., mother, Dorothy, and brother, Martin Jr.

Barbara raised Philip and Eric to have integrity, honesty and a love of others. She even taught Philip how to cook before he left for college and ensured that Eric went off to college with an exquisite wardrobe and an appreciation for beautiful things]. She will always be remembered for her love of her sons, and her love of others.

Serving as a registered nurse for many years, her professional life was dedicated to helping others, that was the core of who she was.

Service details are being determined at this time. In the meantime, condolences may be shared and sent through this website for all to appreciate.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Los Angeles Opera or Los Angeles Ballet Company, in memory of Barbara Jeanne Long. Her passion for the arts will live on through your remembrance.
