I will always love my grandmother, but I know she lived a good life. I have so many memories of my grandmother. She took care of me when I was small during my parents separation. She took me in for my high school years to help me be better. She taught me so many skills such as cooking and baking. I remember we used to bake every weekend and I had so much fun. But my favorite memory is when I was a little girl, I didn’t understand what dentures were and what they meant. And so she decided to tell me that she had a magic trick and asked if I want to see it. Of course I did, I mean, grams magical, uh YA! And so she proceeded to take her teeth out and then she put the back in like nothing. I was so amazed that I tried everything to take my teeth out too. I was in the “front room” and she came in to find me frustrated and crying and so she asked me what was wrong. I said “grams, I can’t take my teeth out like you” and she chuckled, hugged me and said “my sweet girl, you will understand when your older”
Forever in my heart Grams! I love you, “rest easy now that you can” ♥️ 

She was an awesome woman. I enjoyed spending time with her out in Barrhead. We enjoyed each other's company and would pass the time playing crib and rummy. I loved her spaghetti and meatballs. It took me about 8 years to get the secret ingredients out of her. She indeed was a great cook and must give a shoutout to her Cherry Cha Cha; a summertime special of hers. Like her son, Joe, touched on, her quirky sayings. One I use to this day is, " See, there's nothing to it if you know what you're doing.".  Eternal peace Violet, you are missed.

Mom always had the best sayings like; relax you will live longer or; it will all come out in the wash. It probably sounded silly at the time but it did make. The stress or fret go away even for a little while. Mom was an excellent cook. She always said, food has to taste good. One amazing thing she could do was stretch a meal. It might be Saturday lunch time of leftovers and probably just enough for who was there and then unexpected guests would arrive. Well away she would go into the fridge and cupboard adding a bit of this and that and just as if it was planned there was more than enough for everyone. No one was ever left out and no one ever went hungry from her kitchen. She could make due with the least of things which is probably true of all those depression era kids. She loved family and adored the grandkids. She always said they are the best because I can spoil them and then they go home lol. One thing Mom said to me a few months ago when we had a visit was; Always love your kids! It was that short and that to the point just like her. Mom didn’t leave room for guessing when she told you something. Mom, you will be loved always and missed forever. Your quirky sayings will always be with us, yah moy, you bethcha bobalooey. I am happy and proud to be your son.
