Robert Allan Smyth

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Robert “Bob” Smyth of Barrhead, AB on January 2nd, 2014 at the age of 77 years. He is survived by his loving family, wife Gladys of 51 years, their 3 children; Lyle Smyth of Barrhead, Sheila (Don) Wray of Edmonton, Karen (James) Simpson of Manola, 6 grandchildren; Matthew Wray, Kelsey Wray, Aaron Wray, Kristopher (Christina) Lappin, Samantha Smyth, and Morgan Simpson. Bob will also be missed by his 4 brothers; Gerald (Glenda) Smyth, Larry Smyth, Wayne (Patti) Smyth, and Roy (Shannon) Smyth, his 2 sisters; Ellen (Terry) Tiffen and Linda Smyth, his brother-in-law Harold Failing as well as numerous other family and many dear friends. Bob was predeceased by his parents Laurence and Edna Smyth, his sister Joyce Smyth, brother-in-law Bert Failing and sister-in-law May Kluin. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 7th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Chapel with Donna McDowell officiating. An Inurnment will be held at the Barrhead Community Cemetery’s Columbarium following. Memorial Donations in Bob’s memory are gratefully accepted to Blue Heron Support Services or to a Charity of One’s Choice.
