We miss you Jim!

I have another musing story about Jimmy. As our neighbour in Eaglesham (Northern AB) he drove over to our farm once with his super old Ford truck and to our amazement he had no door on the driver’s side.  Completely gone!
My brother and myself were approx 12 yrs old and were shocked! Never saw anything like that at that age.  We asked him, “What happened to your door?” Oh he said, you don’t need a door on the truck, it just gets in the way.
That would be Jimmy! Lol..
Rest easy my friend!

It has now been 3 years since Jimmy passed away and I often think about him, and the times he spent with our family as a neighbour in the Eaglesham, AB area. For example, he gave my brother and me our first summer job working for his oilfield company called M&M that he named after his niece and nephew Michael & Michelle.
Our job role was maintaining the wellhead leases from mowing grass to painting the piping on-lease. 
His infectious sense of humour still keeps me smiling to this day! 
That same summer he had a white Oldsmobile car with red interior and while riding with him he said, “This is how they drive in city.” He would speed up slightly only to press the brakes a few seconds later imitiating the city drive, which being that I reside in Calgary now, I fully get the punch line! 
To him calling the AGT (Telus) operator on Christmas Eve to see if the operator would patch him through to the Canadian Prime Minister ( Pierre Trudeau at the time), to ask for instructions on how to stuff a turkey that my Mother had defrosting on the stove, for our Christmas meal the next day!!
From his infamous blue Boogie van that he owned to him telling my brother and me at age 9 that he previously had played pro baseball for the New York Yonkees ( not the Yankees, but the Yonkees!) 
I could go on & on, but it leaves me laughing and tearing up at the same time. I/We miss you, Jimmy!

Jimmy, and his parents, were our next door neighbor in Northern Alberta. We had lots of laughs and fun with him/them over many years. 
Nobody can take those memories away. Rest in peace, my friend...


So sorry for your loss of Jim.  I was so happy when you found love with Jim those many years ago. Treasure the memories you made together,  That is one thing you can hold in your heart for the rest of your life. Take care, Joan

Jim was a super Uncle.  He made us (me & my brother, Mike) feel very loved as children.   We spent time in the summer with him, Grandpa & Grandma  at the farm near Eaglesham. We giggled often; & learned many things. The everlasting mystery is how Uncle Jim and Santa Claus had the same boots. Uncle Jim & Aunt Wendy are a very big part of the happy memories from my wedding. He will be thought of fondly.

Greg and I extend our deepest sympathy to all of the family. Jim will be greatly missed.
