It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Henry Middendorf on December 7 at the age of 89 years.
Henry worked as a master carpenter for years in Edmonton and Edson before becoming a farmer just outside of Barrhead. Henry loved the outdoors. He loved camping, fishing and gardening. As well as large garden each year, he had a small greenhouse and planted so many tomatoes that he was constantly giving them away all summer to family and friends. He loved music and to sing. He sang with choirs both in Edmonton and Barrhead. Mostly though, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He will be lovingly remembered by daughter, Joan (John); son, Jeffrey; son- in-law, Russell; grandchildren, Samantha and Alexandra; brother, Albert; brother-in- law, Kurt (Betty); step-grandchildren, David (Vikki) and Natalie; as well as other family and dear friends. Henry was predeceased by his beloved wife, Hilda, daughter, Laurel; brother Alfonse.
A celebration of Henry’s life will be held on December 19 at 1pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Barrhead, AB.
Memorial Donations can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or to STARS Air Ambulance Foundation.
