Guido van Hetbeek

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Guido van Heybeek. Husband to Julienne and dad to Ilse and Inge. He started working in Belgium as a chemical engineer and was a proud active member of the EMS services for 30 years. Guido very much loved the outdoors and found in Barrhead many new friends. Going on road trips with his wife of 52 years was one of his favorite things to do. Guido late of Barrhead, Alberta formerly of Essen, Belgium, passed away on July 12, 2017 at the age of 74 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Julienne; daughters, Ilse (Guido) Van Loon & Inge (Koen) De Herdt; 8 grandchildren, Emma, Anne, Vincent, Lisa, Niels, Pieter, Elien & Lotte. Guido is predeceased by his parents Gerard & Elizabeth van Heybeek. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday July 19, 2017 from Rose Garden Chapel, Barrhead, Alberta with Rev. David Pype officiating. Interment will follow at Glenreagh Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made in Guido’s name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
