Gregory Douglas McCarthy

Gregory Douglas McCarthy age 52 passed away peacefully July 2, 2020, after a long battle of fighting cancer. Greg was born September 6, 1967, in Penticton, British Columbia to Karen and Stan McCarthy. Greg was an adventurous child, he regularly enjoyed climbing out his bedroom window to sneak over to his grandparents' place and bugging his two siblings Judy and Ted McCarthy. Greg graduated highschool from Kam High in Kamloops British Columbia at the age of seventeen and spent his working adult life working for multiple companies as a Boilermaker and a professional juice box stealer. Eventually finding the love of his life and having two children, Greg moved out to Alberta and settled down in Barrhead where he would then enjoy the silence of small-town living. Greg is survived by his wife Sandra McCarthy, his two children Ashley and Colby, his parents Karen and Stan, and also his siblings Judy and Ted. Greg was especially fond of camping with his family whenever he could and enjoyed gardening with his wife during the summer months. Greg's favourite flowers were roses and he spent many hours trying to keep his rose bush looking in tip-top shape. A lovable father and a thoughtful husband Greg was always looking out for his family in any way he could. Due to Greg's personal beliefs, there will be no funeral service but rather a reminder to hug those who are close to you and to call those you love.
