Friedhelm Fred Konrad Meissner

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Fred Meissner of Barrhead, AB formerly of Rheda, Germany passed away on January 11th, 2014 at the age of 76 years. He is survived by his loving family, wife Heidi of 54 years, their 4 children; Robert (Konnie) Meissner of Rimbey,AB, Gerhard (Lorrie) Meissner of Cornation, AB, Barb Meissner of Barrhead, AB, Rita (Darrell) Schonknecht of Barrhead, AB. 8 grandchildren; Steven (Carmen) Meissner of Vermilion, Kevin ( Tara) Meissner of Vermilion, AB, Jenna Meissner of Rimbey AB, Dustin, Mitchell Badke of Barrhead, AB , Dylon Meissner of Spruce Grove, AB, Jason Schonknecht (Lisa Kuschminder) of Barrhead, AB, Todd Schonknecht of Barrhead, AB, 3 great-grandchildren; Paige, Cale and Emily, brothers in law; Otto (Hildegard) Pohling of Anchorage, Alaska, Jerry (Elizabeth) Pohling of Drayton Valley, AB, as well as numerous other family and many dear friends. Fred is predeceased by his parents, Conrad & Willhemina of Germany.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Barrhead, AB, with Pastor Kevin Ree officiating. Memorial Donations in Fred’s memory are gratefully accepted to the Alberta Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
