Royce Holden

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elmer Royce Holden on December 6th, 2024. Royce was born on April 23rd, 1944 in Delano, Ca where his parents, Elmer and Wilma settled. Royce was a valiant fighter through all of his cancer treatments and will be incredibly missed. He was a wonderful husband to Lois who he married March 20th, 1964. The two spent a happy 60 years together with their children, Kyle and Michele (Moulton).

Royce had a 40 year career in the meat cutting industry that started at Miracle Market, where he met Lois. He also worked at MayFair, Thrifty Mart and retired from Vons in 1999. Among his hobbies were racing and working on cars, fishing, camping and enjoying an Angels or Dodger game. He was once the president of the Ford Drag Club which led to a job at Jim Burke Ford as a dealer trade driver.

In his lifetime, he was proceeded in death by his parents Elmer and Wilma, his In-Laws Bill and Elsie Wagoner and many cousins. He is survived by his wife Lois, children Kyle (Tami) and Michele (Rob Moulton). Sisters Shirley, Kathy, Judy, brother David and childhood friends Hershal Tassey and Sharon Boen. His grandchildren Justin (Alana), Levi, Kylee, Ashley (Jason Goin), and Ally (Hunter Crist). And his 8 Great Grandchildren, Axel, Roxas, Lexaeus, Marluxia, Vexin, Ethan, Kody and Paige.

Royce was a wonderful and loving Husband, Dad, Papa, Big Papa and most importantly- Friend to all. He will be missed every single day.

Services for Royce will January 3rd at 12:00pm at Hillcrest Mortuary. Food and Drinks will be to follow at Straw Hat Pizza (9620 Hegamen Rd) at 2:30.
