Robert Lockard Vaughn 1922 - 2011 Robert Vaughn passed away March 6, 2011 in Bakersfield, California. Robert was born in Rochester, New York to Henry and Blanche Vaughn on September 19, 1922. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife and life partner Virginia, and his son Larry. Virginia and Robert met in 1943 and were married 3 months later. They spent 60 wonderful years together. Robert is survived by three of his four children; Sandy Ayers, Roberta Gamblin, and Virginia Burghardt, along with 16 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Robert held a Masters of Science Degree in Technical and Administrative Management. He is listed in Who's -Who in California, in the United States, and in the world. Robert is author and/or co-author of over one hundred forty-one technical articles/books and has lectured extensively in North America, the Far East, and Europe. Holder of five United States patents, he was the recipient of Society of Manufacturing Engineer's International Gold Medal, and President's Award. Robert was a decorated sergeant in Tech 3 U.S. Army, 1st Infantry Division; 23rd Corps, in WW11, 1944-1945. He was intensely loved and will be greatly missed! Services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Saturday March 12th at 1:30pm.
