Rebecca Elizabeth Gerig

June 6, 1930 - February 23, 2021

Rebecca Gerig, on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, had a change of address and ascended to Heaven at the age of 90. Beckie was born on June 6, 1930 in Wybark, OK to Charley and Cora Hammons. She was number 8 out of 11 children.

On May 28, 1947, she married Paul Gerig. They raised two children, Barbara and Floyd. Beckie and family moved to Kern County in 1960 where Paul started his own business and Beckie ran his home office and was her church secretary for 20 years.

Beckie had a passion for sewing and quilting. She also loved to sing and play dominoes. She adored being a grandmother and spent as much time with her grandchildren as possible.

Beckie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul, She is survived by her two children, Barbara May (Jerry) and Floyd Gerig (Charlene), grandchildren, Michelle Duncan, Rebecca Bean, and Monty Riley, great-granddaughters Stefanie and Kaylee Duncan, baby brother Bill Hammons and many nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Alzheimer's Association or to The Village at Seven Oaks, where Beckie was treated with love and kindness.
