Mary Elaine Hilderbrand

Born on March 14, 1944, in Bakersfield, California, Mary was the cherished daughter of Arthur and Billie Hensen. Throughout her life, she exemplified grace, love, and unwavering faith. Mary was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, and friend, and her kindness touched the lives of everyone she met.

Danny and Mary were married for 60 wonderful years. Danny fell in love with Mary at a young age when he saw a girl sitting on a dirt hill, playing with a Mr. Potato Head. She resonated with him, leaving an indelible mark on his heart.

As time passed, Danny never forgot about that girl on that dirt hill.

After years of traveling for work, Danny received a phone call instructing him to stop in an office to sign paperwork. When he arrived, he was stunned to find Mary behind the desk.

And thus their love story began.

Danny stated, "the last three years of her life I was still learning things about the love of my life and falling more in love with her."

She leaves behind the love of her life, her husband Danny, whose support and companionship were her greatest joys. Mary is also survived by her beloved sisters', Barbara and Teresa. Awaiting her in heaven at the right hand of Christ is her daughter, Dana Kristine Hilderbrand, who has been lovingly remembered by Mary as an angel in her life. Mary's parents Arthur and Billie, and her brothers Jim Hensen and Tom Hensen.

Mary's legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. We celebrate her life and the countless memories she created with family and friends. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered.

A graveside service will be held to honor Mary’s remarkable life will be held Monday, December 16, 2024 from 12:30 p.m.at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Laid to rest in Holy Cross Garden, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, California 93306.
