Jimmy Rivera, 61, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 30, 2017. Jimmy was a great man, Husband, Father, and Papa born on June 23, 1956 in Sacramento, CA; the son of Ramon and Frances Rivera. He leaves behind a loving family that he was very proud of and that he loved unselfishly. Jimmy was a man of God who was soft-spoken, patient, compassionate, kind, and genuine. He was a role model for all, a fighter, and our hero.
In March of 1976, Jimmy bravely enlisted in the Navy and served our country working as a Radioman 3rd class (RM3) on the USS Truxtun (CGN-35), honorably discharged after 3.5 years of service. After the Navy, Jimmy obtained over 30 years of management and technical service experience. He was a well-respected Leader and his coworkers at American Business Machines loved him dearly. His recent hobbies included spending time with family and friends and relaxing at his favorite place in the world, the “Rivera Cabin” in the mountains.
Jimmy will be deeply missed and is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Susan; children: Jimmy Rivera Jr. (wife Kayla) and Jayme Rivera (wife Whitney); grandchildren: Reece and Jace Rivera; siblings: Norma Maher (husband Pat) and Miriam Trejo; and his beloved dog Kaylee. His father Ramon, mother Frances, and brother Raymond precede him in death. All whom loved him dearly, will always remember his grace, his heart, and the legacy that he left behind.
