Gary Michael Winton was born in Bakersfield, California, to Veta and Buddy Winton. Gary was a proud farm boy who often reminisced about his childhood and adolescent years spent working on the farm, shooting guns, and driving his pickup truck. Gary's love for farming, animals, and the outdoors followed him throughout his life. Gary took great pride in his yard and enjoyed a freshly mowed lawn, had an extensive collection of tractors that he displayed proudly in his office, and was the favorite to all four-legged friends, especially his beloved chihuahua, Killer. To know Gary, was to know his sense of humor, and how punny he was. Gary kept his friends and family entertained daily and found great satisfaction in seeing their reaction to his jokes. In college, Gary met the love of his life, his wife, Sue, and they were married for almost 48 years. After his Lord and Savior and family, this gentle giant enjoyed watching the Dodgers, driving his jeep, going to the beach, had many loving friends and spent his retirement living the good life.
Gary leaves behind two daughters, Sara Blaylock (son Andrew) and Mary Winton, and two grandchildren, Madison Sue and Beau Michael Blaylock.
Special thanks to Dr. V. Mehta, Becky Sutton FNP-C, & Dr. Habbib at CCVMG, and Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed for giving us more precious time with Gary.
