Dennis Lee McGee

Dennis passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Dennis was born in Bakersfield, California to Frank and Patricia McGee. He graduated from East High in 1967.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Patricia, and his brother, Dwight. He is survived by his wife, Jane, his sons, Ryan (Linda) and Kevin (Laurie), and daughter, Erin. He is also survived by his five granddaughters, Abbey, Isabella, Emily, Olivia, and Samantha, and his brother, David.

Dennis enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing with his father and brothers. After his father passed away, he spent a lot of time with his Uncle Gene, who was like a second father to him. After marriage and children, the McGees spent much time camping, especially in Kings Canyon and Sequoia. Dennis loved his family dearly and was his mother’s caregiver in her last years of life.

Dennis will be remembered for his collection of Coca-Cola memorabilia and his love of sweets.

The family would like to thank Wilma, Ernie, and all the staff at the Trinity Home Care, along with the staff from Bristol Hospice who took such amazing care of our beloved Dennis.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church 1900 Baker Street.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dennis McGee’s name to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association of Bakersfield.

A graveside service for Dennis will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
