May 8, 1953 - September 13, 2018
Cheryl Ann Brudvig, age... (she'd kill us if we told you), passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 13th, 2018. She leaves Craig, her husband of 36 years, her son Jacob, her sister Lynn, and so many laughs and unforgettable memories.
Cheryl was born in Wyandotte, Michigan to Lee and Angie Duncan on May 8th, 1953. Though her first memories were in a house in Michigan, her real home became Bakersfield, California where she met the love of her life, Craig Brudvig. It only took Craig one date to realize Cheryl was the love of his life and after working up the courage, he proposed to her on the third date. They began their life together on February 21st, 1982.
After years of being told it was impossible to have a child, Cheryl and Craig welcomed their son Jacob into this world on August 8th, 1990. From the very beginning, Jacob was one of their greatest joys in life. It never took Cheryl more than two minutes with someone to talk about how proud she was of her son.
Cheryl was a strong, fun, tough, generous, and extremely spirited woman who impacted so many lives for the good. She was a wife, a mother, a friend, a mentor, and someone you could always seek guidance from. She stood her ground, never lost an argument (always would remind you of it) , and still cared for you just like you were part of her family. Cheryl brought a smile to any face and never lost her love for living so full of life.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Cheryl's life this Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary (9101 Kern Canyon Road in Bakersfield). A viewing will be held from 3-4 p.m. with memorial services to start at 4 p.m. We ask that anyone willing to share fun, warm, or loving stories about her (serious, funny, or anything in-between) please do so during the service.
