Dora was born in Ybycui, Paraguay, to Juan and Anastasia, and grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In pursuit of a better future, she bravely ventured to America, where she raised her family and embraced a new life, despite not knowing the language or traditions. With her intelligence, strength, and resilience, Dora truly embodied the American Dream.
Dora shared a lifelong love with her dear husband, Roque Duarte. She was a caring mother to Norma, Edgardo, Alejandra, and Rosalia, a loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren—Daniel, Eva, Dora, Andres, Victoria, Anastasia, Dionisia, Marcos, Natalia, Monica, and Julian—and a proud great-grandmother to 6—Jonnie, Jaden, Anthony, Emmanuel, Aiden, and Jaxson.
We honor her memory by remembering the things she cherished. Dora had a deep love for gardening, and her favorite flower was the rose, symbolizing her beauty and resilience. She and Roque shared a special bond, often dancing the tango together. Dora also loved to cook and entertain, especially with her famous turkey and raviolis. Traveling the world and enjoying trips to the beach brought her great joy. She had a playful side, enjoying scratch-off games, visiting the casino, and watching shows like Laura, Wheel of Fortune, and The Price is Right. Though she loved to treat herself, she always made sure to care for others, helping anyone in need, often even those who didn't necessarily deserve it.
May her memory be eternal, and her legacy live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
