Mr. Darcy Romain

Feb 22, 1948 – July 18, 2016

Left us at peace with us and the Lord. Beloved husband and “best friend” of Faye (Arsenault) for 45 years. Father and friend to Stephanie (Jonathan Nadler), Matthew (Kaitlin Green) and the late Jeffrey. Proud and awesome Papa to Tristan (“I still love you more”) and Kieran. Son of the late Leo Romain and Elizabeth Vienneau. Brother to Jean-Guy (late Jean Gallant), Leona (late Chris Henwood), Patricia and George (Janice Delbold). Son in-law to Teresa Paquette and the late Alfred Arsenault. Brother-in-law to Jill (Al Gnatiuk) and Nancy (Joe Devine). Proud uncle and great uncle of many nieces, nephews (whom he just couldn’t tease enough.) Graduate of Algonquin College, minor hockey coach for many years. Founded Hockey Feminin in the Outaouais region (now known as AHFVG). Volunteer for many other causes. Proud member of the Anciens Mariniers (retirement would not have been the same without you guys) and the Padre Pio Prayer Group. Many thanks to Dr. S. Gagnon, Dr. M. D’Allaire, Suzanne Delisle, Annie Cloutier (CLSC) and the staff of the Cancer Centre in Gatineau, the Pharmaprix staff (Aylmer sector) for their genuine caring and keeping it all together for us, for three years. His friends Kathleen, Skip and Sergio for always being there, and to the unbelievable staff and volunteers at La Maison Mathieu Froment-Savoie. Without them these last three months would have been unbearable. Family and friends are invited at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Beauchamp Funeral Home 271, St-Joseph Blvd., Gatineau (Hull sector) on Friday July 22, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday July 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St-Mark Church 160, Principale St. Gatineau (Aylmer sector). In lieu of flowers, our family is requesting any donations to La Maison Mathieu Froment-Savoie. Flowers die, the living dying need our support and help.
