Yvette Jeannette Nichols, 49, Austin, TX native, departed for Heaven suddenly on October 23, 2011—Heaven needed another angel is our guess! She will always be loved by her mother Betty, twin sister Yvonne, treasured nephews Ryan and Joshua, cherished niece Katrina, uncle Clayton Eckhardt, aunts Shirley Berry and Sandy Edwards, and a host of loving relatives. Her father Louis E. Nichols preceded her in death.
In her free time, she enjoyed visiting with family and friends in Fredericksburg. She also enjoyed spending time every summer vacation in Port Aransas beach-combing, feeding seagulls, fishing, and visiting the Gratitude Shoppe.
As a distinguished Seton E.R. nurse (McCallum High School '80 and U.T. Austin Nursing School '84), she touched the lives of many patients and co-workers for more than 26 years in life and death, and they will always be her beloved Seton family.
She also used her nursing skills to nurture Austin's baby birds that left their nests too soon, Redeemer Lutheran Church's former aviary for many years, and the wild Austin Quaker parrots.
Her life will be celebrated in a joyous memorial service on Saturday, October 29, at 11:00 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1500 West Anderson Ln., Austin, 78757. Those wishing to may make memorial contributions to Seton Fund, Redeemer Lutheran Church, or the charity of choice in Yvette J. Nichols' memory.
