Victoria Elliott, 93, was called to Heaven on Sunday the 19th day of December 2010, in Austin, Texas. Victoria, the second child of eight siblings, was born to David and Ellen Carlson on the 12th day of January 1917. The family moved to Austin in the 1930’s and became members of Hyde Park Baptist Church. Victoria worked for Scarbroughts Department Store, located at Sixth and Congress, in downtown Austin, before being employed by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Vicki was adored as a beloved friend, sister, cousin, and aunt. She enjoyed spending time with her family, hosting birthday parties and other holiday celebrations, as well as working on large jigsaw puzzles. She will be missed and will be in our hearts forever.
Victoria is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, the late Kerns Elliott; and her sisters, Anna Lee Reneau, Irene Carlson, and Naomi Jacobson. Mrs. Elliott is survived by her brother, Oliver Carlson and wife Mary Elaine of Austin; sisters, Winifred Carlson of Austin, Laverne Morrison of Michigan, and Gladys Hirst of Austin. Vicki will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Tuesday the 21st day of December 2010. A funeral service will begin at one o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday the 22nd day of December, at the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas 78752. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Jeff Hirst, Steven Hirst, David Hirst, Dan Jacobson, Gary Carlson, and Glen Carlson. An Honorary Pallbearer will be Kevin Elliott Hirst.
