Mike attended Highland Park Elementary, Lamar Junior High and graduated from McCallum High school in 1970. He was a graduate of the University of Texas and an honors graduate of St. Mary’s Law School.
Shortly after graduation from St. Mary’s Law School, in 1979, Mike married the love of his life Susan Stokes. After graduation from St. Mary’s Mike became a briefing attorney for Justice Franklin Spears of the Texas Supreme Court. He later joined his father, Tom Davis, at the Austin law firm Byrd Davis Eisenburg.
In 1993 Mike, his father Tom Davis, and Mike Slack founded Slack Davis Sanger. Mike was certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and he was a selected for membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He was extensively published and was in demand as a lecturer on advanced personal injury topics and was recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer.
Mike had a strong love for baseball and softball. He volunteered considerable time and energy to the Oak Hill Youth Sports Association, where he served many roles for the past 31 years.
Mike actively participated in men’s slow-pitch softball where he met many of his close friends. He continued to play at a national level into this year. His love of “all things baseball” was superseded only by his passion for bird hunting and training his Labrador Retrievers.
A devoted and caring husband, father, and loyal friend too many, Mike was always protective and generous towards those less fortunate than himself. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Susan Davis; his son, Ty Davis, (Ashleigh Davis); his brother, Don Davis (Debbie Davis).
