Steve, son of Alfred and Lucile Boemer, was known to be tenderhearted and independent as a child. In fact, one of his first sentences was, “I do it myself!” He grew up as a part of the Redeemer Lutheran Church family, being baptized, confirmed, and attending elementary school there. Steve graduated from McCallum High School in 1980, and went on to attend Texas State University in San Marcos. He was then employed at a local bank. Later on, he began working at Austin Radiological Association, where he worked in Accounts Receivable for 15 years. Many close friendships were made during his years of work. Keeping in contact with his friends, as well as his many cousins and family members, was something Steve enjoyed very much. He also had a love for music, movies, traveling, and, most of all, laughing. Steve was full of personality and always managed to put a smile on his friends and family’s faces.
Steve is survived by his mother, Lu Boemer of Austin; sister, Liz Issleib and husband, Gary of Round Rock; nephew, Clayton Issleib of Round Rock; niece, Ashton Rawls and husband, Colton of College Station; and numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Boemer.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 4, 2019 at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers and the customary remembrances, memorials may be sent to Redeemer Lutheran Church or school, 1500 W. Anderson Lane, Austin, Texas 78757 or to a charity of your choice.
