Russell Lee Oliver

Russell Lee Oliver was born on January 19, 1974 in Memphis, Tennessee and died July 10, 2022 in Austin. He moved to Austin with his family in December 1975. He attended Early Childhood programs followed by special education classes in AISD schools until graduating from Rosedale School campus in 1996.

As an adult, Lee resided in group homes and participated in day activities at facilities in Austin. He was blessed to have many wonderful staff, care givers and friends at each.

Lee loved swimming, watching movie musicals, outings with his family and friends and especially Sunday visits home.

Lee passed away from complications of severe pneumonia swaddled in the loving touches of his parents and siblings. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, A.A. “Bus” Wimmer, Maurice Oliver and Geneva Oliver, and his aunt and godmother, Corlis Wimmer Pate. He is survived by his grandmother Valeria Wimmer, parents, Russell and Sharon Oliver, brother Todd and his wife Christy, sister Lauren Brauer and her husband Nik, and four smart and handsome nephews, James and Ryan Oliver and Peter and Benjamin Brauer.

The family requests that any donations in Lee’s memory go to the Angelman Syndrome Foundation or The Arc of Texas.
