Rose Marie Moore

Rose was born to Thomas W. and Mamie Lee Dowdy Burnett on January 15, 1938 in Kerrville, Texas. The youngest of four daughters, Rose graduated from Tivy High School in Kerrville in 1956. She then moved to San Antonio and began working as an office clerk.

Rose and her husband and children moved to Austin in 1965. Rose started working at the IRS Service Center in south Austin, a career that lasted 35 years. She retired in 2000.

A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed reading, scrapbooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Tommie Lee Gardner, Jessie Mae Gafford, and former husband Patrick Moore.

She is survived by her sister Nina Frances Sessom of Llano; children Joe Moore and wife Debbie of Austin, Tom Moore and fiancée Roxanne of Phoenix, Arizona, Leeann Gonsoulin and husband Jack of Austin; grandchildren Jennifer Burkhart and husband Cliff of Buda, Daniel Moore and fiancée Lauren of Dallas, Jacob Moore of Austin, Kyle Moore of Buda, Trey Gonsoulin and fiancée Anja of Austin; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W. William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas, 78749. Visitation at 11am, funeral service at 12pm, graveside service at 1 pm.
