Robert Mark Jay Hodgson Jay Hodgson, age 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2007. Jay was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on October 24th, 1928. He honorably served his country in WWII in the Navy as a communications specialist. Upon discharge he attended the University of Utah, to later transfer to the University of Texas at Austin graduating in radio journalism. Jays career was with channel 7 KTBC during the formative years of television. He was well known as Uncle Jay in the children's television show the Uncle Jay Show that aired in the central Texas area for 25 years. In addition, he was known for appearing in a variety of public affairs programming and was with KTBC for 38 years. After retirement, Jay and his wife enjoyed traveling abroad and life in the country. Jay is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; children Wayne of Atlanta; Wesley and Denise of Austin; Debbie and Grandson Jaryd of Cedar Creek. The family will hold a private gathering.
