Bob was born on November 14, 1944 to Robert Andrew and Lollie Louise (Myers) Green in Waco, Texas. After graduating from McCallum High School in 1963, he pursued a degree in Finance at Baylor where he earned the nickname “Sugarfoot” for his sweet moves as split end on the Bear’s football field. He was an active member of the Tri C Social Club.
He enjoyed a long career as a financial investment advisor for Rauscher Pierce and later Wells Fargo, retiring after 50 years in 2018 to pursue his other passions: travel, golf, and bridge. Along with his beloved wife, Dionne, he loved watching his grandchildren play sports, and hosted a huge family Thanksgiving feast every year which always ended with the whole family decorating their carefully selected 14-foot tree.
Bob is survived by his wife of nearly 38 years, Dionne, daughter Kristen Mitrakis and husband Nick, son Kyle Green and wife Jacque, son Clint Thompson and wife Tiia, sister Betty Orme and husband Loren, nephew Steve Orme, niece Denise Monzingo, grandchildren Colby Green, Nicholas Morris, Carson Green, Katie Mitrakis, Clay Green, Adaline Thompson, Colton Thompson, Sloane Green and Parker Green.
Services will be held at 11:00AM Saturday May 28 at Smith Family Chapel at Riverbend Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The ALS Association of Texas, 14555 Dallas Parkway, Suite 100-219, Dallas, Texas 75254 (www.alstexas.org/donate).
