To my mind, Bob was a great sculptor.  He was a significant Texas artist across two centuries and was successful in both natural representation of wildlife and in abstracts of human behavior.  I have lived with his bronzes as will generations of future fans.

Two days ago we were in Georgetown walking around the downtown  square. We made a point to stop and admire Bob’s beautiful sculpture. I found the description and photo below  on the internet. Bob was a talent sculptor and wonderful friend to many. Gary and I have many fond memories of him.

Robert was a treasured and talented classmate in  the UT School of Architecture in the fifties. He was a gifted designer and Architect as well as an accomplished Sculptor whose many imaginative creations  remain as inspirations for generations. May his memory continue to be a blessing and inspiration for his family and many life long friends. RIP Bob.

    Bob Coffee was always full of energy and drive. During his time as president of the Texas Society of Sculptors, he organized many new sculpture show venues around Central Texas for our members. It still amazes me how much he could squeeze into 24 hours. Bob was also one of the nicest persons, he volunteered many times to pick up others and take them to our TSOS meetings. Bob had a way to make people feel special with his smile, firm hand shake or pat on the back. We are all going to miss him.

Bob has been a friend for many decades. We took a sculpture class together many years ago and became members of the Texas Sculpture Society. I was able to work with him as an architect when I was with the University of Texas System.
He will be missed by all.
