Robert (Bob) Michael

Robert (Bob) Michael, age 83, passed away in his sleep on January 31, 2011. He was with his loving wife Catherine (Kay) of 56 years. He is survived by sons Jay and Bruce and his wife Linda and grandchildren Nicolas and Morgan, of whom he was very proud. He was preceded in death by beloved son Scot. Bob and his wife Kay moved to Texas 19 years ago from Indiana where Bob has extended family. He was member of St. Thomas More Parish in Austin. He served in the U.S. Navy toward the end of World War II. He is a member of the American Legion, Post 330 in Calumet City, Illinois. He retired from Inland Steel (now Arcelor Mittal) in 1989 and enjoyed spending his retirement years with his loving family and good friends. He will be greatly missed but has left behind many happy memories for his family to cherish.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 2/3/11, at St. Thomas More Church, 10205 Ranch Road 620 North, Austin, TX 78726. His final resting place will be in Northwest Indiana. A wake will be held at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN 46321, (219) 896-5000. The Indiana dates are yet to be finalized.
