Robert "Bobby" "Bobby" Abeyta Sr.

Robert "Bobby" Anthony Abeyta Sr. left this life on June 4, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born March 31, 1941, Socorro, New Mexico. He grew up in El Paso, Texas and joined the Air Force in 1958.

In 1960 he met and married Charlice Ann Gilstrap of Fairbanks Alaska where he was stationed, and had two beautiful daughters Roberta and Rebecca and then found his home in Austin, Texas. He welcomes his son Robert in 1987.

He worked at Austin Ford Tractor and Digz-All of Central Texas. He then became a top Sales Representative for Case Equipment at Rivercity Machinery. His love of people, tractors, backhoes and front loaders led him to become the top salesman of North America in 1984.

He was preceded in death by his parents Manuel Diego and Anita Cuaron Abeyta, His sisters Amelia Reasonover, Anita Abeyta and brother Abran Abeyta.

Robert "Bobby" is survived by his daughter Roberta Ann (Najib) Wehbe, grandchildren Michael, Charlice, Tareza, Layla, and Isabel, daughter Rebecca Marie (Andy) Contreras and son Robert Anthony. His brother Manuel Diego Abeyta Jr, Sister in law Mary Patricia Gilstrap and his brother in law Robert Roy Gilstrap and many nieces and nephews of El Paso Tx

The Family would like to acknowledge the incredible care given by the VA Hospital and especially the "Heroes Haven" on 5J ward in Temple TX.; not a day went by that he didn't thank the staff for their care or his good sense for serving in the military.

Thank you to close friend and "brother in life" Tommy Dye of Dripping Springs Texas and good neighbors that made it possible to spend a few more weeks in his beloved home and haven on Black Oak St. in Austin TX. A special “Thank You” to Monsignor Dr. Don J. Sawyer of Our Lady Maronite Catholic Church in Austin TX for making his transition from this life easier. He went to visit him in the hospital and we are grateful.

A Divine Liturgy will be conducted at twelve o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 7th of June 2013, at Our Lady Maronite Catholic Church, 1320 East 51st Street, Austin, Texas 78723.
