Regina Ann Scott (Reggie), 68, peacefully passed away at home with family on Thursday, July 23, 2015. She was born on February 5, 1947 in Queen’s Hospital, Honolulu, Hawaii to Col. Robert Fair, Ret., (USAF) and Dorothy Fair. As a military brat, she changed schools often and graduated from Kubasaki High School in Okinawa in 1965. After high school she got her initial GS Rating working for Civil Engineer Sq.
On May 29, 1971, she married Tom Scott in the old wooden Chapel on Bergstrom AFB. Their first assignment was 4 ½ years in Germany. Reggie was a foster parent and separately took care of four babies and a pregnant teen. She loved to read, knit, and bowl.
Together Tom and Regina raised two children, Tanja Michelle and Robert Leanord. She was able to spoil 7 grandchildren, Michael, James, Victoria, Trevor, Kaycee, Ryan, and Justin. Preceding Reggie in death was her father and younger sister, Patti.
Later in life Reggie went back to work as a GS for the IRS Clerk-Tax Examiner. She was a caring person who loved life. She made many friends in the military and at the IRS.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, volunteers, and Hospice Austin. Also deep gratitude to the nurses at North and South Austin Medical Centers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with a Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Mass of Celebration will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 3, 2015, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Road with Father Ray Pothireddy, Celebrant. Committal Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 3, 2015, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to be made in Regina’s memory to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church Building Fund or Hospice Austin.
