Rebecca was born on July 16, 1971 to Delia Vela and Romeo Salas in Lockney, Texas where she went on to graduate from Lockney High School. She moved around some throughout her life, notably to Las Vegas, Nevada but eventually came back to Texas to live in the city of Austin.
Throughout her life Rebecca accomplished many things and had several interests she devoted herself to. She was an entrepreneur who owned her own business, Bug Bandit and was an active member of Women In Pest Control. Outside of work Rebecca kept herself busy with non-profit bike rides, woodworking as well as working on other crafts, she also loved dancing, roller skating, and of course, spending time with her much adored family. Rebecca also loved holidays, particularly Halloween. She will be remembered fondly by those that knew her as the selfie queen.
She is survived by her beloved children, Stephanie Torres and Alexis Shaw; her parents, Delia Vela and Romeo Salas, and step father Arturo Vela; grandchildren, Samiah Gomez and Izaiah Pedraza; her siblings, Samantha Salas, Roman Salas, Roxanna Salas, Roberta Salas, Sammy Salas, Randy Casanova, and Salvador Naranjo; her grandmother Dominga Garcia, as well as her cherished 6 nieces and 11 nephews and her darling dog, Jaxx.
Rebecca was a loving mother to her children, an amazing sister, and a beautiful daughter. Those who knew her couldn't help but love her.
A visitation for Rebecca will be held Friday October 28th from 4PM to 7PM, followed by a recitation of the holy rosary from 7pm-8pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral home located at 2620 S. Congress Ave., Austin, TX 78704. A funeral service will be held the next day, Saturday October 29th at 12 PM, also at Weed-Corley-Fish. Following the service there will be a final ride to Assumption Cemetery at 3650 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704.
The Pallbearers for her service will be: Sammy Salas Jr., Eric Martinez, Jude Marquez, Roman Salas, David Bosquez Jr., and Sylas Galarza.
The family would like to thank her extended family, friends, and her entire biker community.
