Randy was born Mach 14, 1948 in Magnolia, Arkansas and went to his heavenly home on April 14, 2023 at the age of 75 in Austin, Texas. He is predeceased by his parents Otis Delmage Pharr and Ruthie Mae Pharr. He attended school through high school in Magnolia and continued his education at Southern State College in Magnolia receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration in May of 1970. After graduating, he worked in the Magnolia Fire Department until joining Placid Oil Company as a Landman in the Spring of 1973. He worked with Placid both in Jackson, MS and New Orleans, LA. He left Placid and joined Tomlinson Interests in Jackson, MS in September 1981 moving with them to Houston, TX in February 1983. On November 1, 1983 he went to work in Houston for then Amerada Hess Corporation until his retirement from Hess in 2013. He was a well-respected in the industry and enjoyed his career as a Professional Landman, garnering vivid stories along the way and forming lifelong friendships.
Randy lived a full and happy life. He met his future wife, Amelia, while working in Jackson. They fell in love and blended a beautiful life and family together. They lived life to the fullest. Randy had many hobbies, from piloting an airplane, scuba diving, Harley Davidson owner, boat owner, NASCAR enthusiast, RV owner and most famously covered wagon owner. They spent 20 happy years with Valley Lodge Trail Ride Association where Randy served on the cook team and later as Trail Boss. Note must be made of the integral part he played and the significance in his life of his time with Strawbridge UMC in Kingwood, TX and Wildwood UMC in Magnolia, TX. Again, lifelong friendships formed during these times.
Randy is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Amelia and their children; Chris Pharr (Jamie) of Southlake, TX, Natalie Bishop (Anthony) of Birmingham, AL, Rees Winstead (Lauren) of Austin, TX and Garrett Pharr of Austin, TX. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and a sister, Delma Jensen (Wayne) of Hot Springs, AR.
