Ralph E. Anderson passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 23, 2019 at his home. Ralph was born on April Fool’s Day in Liege, Belgium, as the only son of Adeline, a homemaker, and Elmer Anderson, a GI. Following Elmer’s Army service, the family settled in Austin, where Ralph attended Travis High School, and would eventually meet his future wife Darlene Wallace while working at Shopper’s World. After their wedding on Valentine’s Day of 1970, they raised four children together. Ralph spent eight years in the Army before returning home to a long career in the United States Postal Service. All along the way, Ralph never met a stranger. He will be remembered by his big heart, lightning-quick wit and his perpetual tardiness. He is survived by his four children: April Goodknight and her husband Richard, Robert Anderson and his wife Elizabeth, Teri Hajec and her husband Steven, and Stephanie Anderson; his mother-in-law Vena Disch; sisters Carol Hawthorne and Lori Bouthiette; ten grandchildren: Katrina, Damyen, Kirstyn, Nathaneal, Brittany, Patrick, Chase, Joshua, Matthew and Emily; and his great-granddaughter Kotomi. Meeting him in eternity are his much-adored Darlene, his parents, father-in-law Cecil Wallace, and sister Mary Ann Anderson.
