Olen graduated from Krum High School. He married Mary Ann Cothron. They were married for 62 years, she preceded him in death. Olen later married Barbara Cothron. Olen served in the U.S. Army in the OSS during WW II.
Olen founded Cothron’s Safe and Lock in 1948 on Congress Avenue. The business flourished from a one man operation to five stores with 75 employees who he enjoyed working with throughout the years.
Olen is survived by his brother, Jay; his wife, Barbara; children, Steve Cothron and wife, Diane and Robin Loverro and husband, Nick. Olen was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks. Entombment services will be private at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park Mausoleum.
