Nancy grew up in Huntsville, graduating from Huntsville High School in 1953. Two years later she met the love of her life, Tom Lindsey, LTC U.S. Army (Retired), who was stationed at the Redstone Arsenal Missile Center. They were married on January 19, 1957.
Nancy was a loving and supportive military wife. She and her family lived in 22 different houses across the country, and also in Paraguay from 1965-1967. She always enjoyed the different places the family lived and visited while appreciating the friends she was able to meet. In 1979, Nancy and her family settled in Richardson, Texas, where they lived for 20 years. She and her husband then retired to Austin, where they joined Oak Hill United Methodist Church.
Nancy’s pride and joy were her home and family. She will be remembered as a loving, patient and compassionate wife, mother and grandmother, and will be deeply missed by everyone blessed to know her.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Johnson.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Tom Lindsey; daughters, Ann K. Lindsey and husband Stephen Kellogg, Mary Alice Alvarez and husband Paul, Sarah Lindsey and husband Christopher Renner; grandchildren, Thomas and Phoebe Kellogg, Zane, Knox and Cole Alvarez, and Stella Rae Renner; sisters, Marilee Sweeney and husband James P., and Beth Sibley and husband Carter; sister-in-law, Mae Johnson and numerous other loving family members and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Oak Hill United Methodist Church located at 7815 Highway 290 West, Pastor Jim Roberts will officiate.
