we were so very saddened to hear of michael's passing.  michael was a very special part of our lives for so long.  one of our favorite memories of michael was the day we took our swimming pool down and he came over with his yellow rain coat on and tools to help us break it up.  my, oh, my, did we all laugh and I think we even filmed it as Jennifer was away at school.  He was such a special person and such a wonderful boy to have as a next door neighbor.  Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this time.  He truly was a person to light up many lives in so very short years.  You were truly blessed to have such a wonderful son.



Dear Paula and Bob,  My heart goes out to you both.  I was saddened by Michael's passing.  He was such a wonderful person and the sweetest little boy.  I will never forget him.  The time I stayed at your house to see Michael's reaction Christmas morning after Santa came, when you came to pick me up from college and the keychain engagement ring that he gave me and all of his drawings that he drew for me  I still have that key chain and the drawings. I will cherish them forever.  Michael made such a lasting impression on me and I am so fortunate to have been blessed by him.  He truly did light up  my life.  God has such a special angel. We are neighbors to Tim and Patti Hogue.  We are praying for your family for strength, comfort in the great loss you have now been faced with.  The Lord Jesus said, when he ascended back up into heaven, " Low, I am with you always, even to the ends of the earth."  He will never leave us nor forsake us.  It's in these times, when we need to read Psalms 91, to run into the High Tower of Peace knowing we can go there and be comforted.    We pray for your family today and speak a "continual joyful remembrance",  as you recall past happy times with Michael.    Clifford was serving his country in Korea when his son was born and he only lived 20 minutes, therefore he was buried before Clifford could return.  He never had closure with that son.  I too lost a son at age 17, so I am aquainted with your sorrow, and I have three other children pass before he did.  Take your time in your mourning. When I lost my husband, I was comforted by a Catholic Nun.  She told me to get a silver Mylor Balloon and to tie notes to its string, telling him all the things I didn't get to say to him before he died, as closure for me.  With 70 other mourning people, we stood outside at night...singing Amazing Grace and allowing our balloons to go upward, turning them loose as we felt we could let them go.  I recommend that as closure for you who did not get to share a Goodbye with Michael.  We never know when each day we might not see each other again.  Speak words of love, tenderness and wisdom to each other.  That daily kindness is great wisdom of God. I met MIchael at church through my niece, Heather. She and Michael were really good friends. Soon after, I saw him often at church with Bethany. i loved watching them together. Their happiness was so obvious and so real.  It is my loss, I didn't have the pleasure of getting to know Michael. However, what I did know about him, through those brief moments, I was around him, was his genuiness. His kindness. His sincere smile, as he looked you in the eye, when he passed you by, and said, "Good Morning" or "How are you?" You could feel he cared. His words were not empty. What a beautiful quality he shared with the people around him. What a beautiful heart. Thank you Michael.



What an emptiness I feel to know that Michael has departed our world. As a former teacher at Akins High School, I remember how Michael literally " lit up the room" with his presence. His smile was as big and heartwarming as his dreams. I admired his gentle, artistic spirit, and his concern for others.  Michael, may angels carry you to eternal rest, and may the peace that passes all understanding comfort those who mourn.        Nance Travis



To the family of Michael,   I only met this young man a few weeks ago at my neice's graduation. He was a very sweet and kind young man, he even laughed at my jokes. I want to send my condolences to his family, especially his mother. He was very proud of you. I hope with all of my heart that God brings comfort to all of you.



Michael was a very sweet young man.  He will be missed.  I worked with Michael for just a little while at Solectron, but I will not forget him. May my prayers go out to your family at this time.



Although we knew Michael but a short time he made an incredible impact with his great personality and love of people and life.  Our hearts are heavy for his family but joyous knowing he has gone home.  We met Michael at the Hyde Park Church of Christ.    Please know that he made a difference in everyone he met.
