Mary was born January 14, 1943 in Lone Wolf, OK to Clifford and Fannie Mae Wright who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Lone Wolf High School and attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State. After receiving her Associates Degree she married the love of her life, Ray Price. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on June 29, the same day their granddaughter Cassidy married the love of her life, Chad Williams. It was a beautiful evening as she was able to attend the wedding. That special day will continue to be celebrated for years to come.
Ray and Mary moved to Austin, TX in 1970 where she would raise her two young children (Brent and Tina) and also support Ray in running Pioneer Insurance Agency as well as working as the church secretary at St. Johns United Methodist Church.
Mary loved to celebrate any event with her family. She was a wonderful cook and always the perfect hostess. Mary devoted herself to helping others through countless hours each week of writing cards and letters to friends or church members who Spirits needed to be uplifted. She was also a devoted Prayer Warrior for those in need. She was right by her husband and daughter’s side when they were diagnosed with cancer in 2007 & 2008. The love she showed them made those trying times much easier to walk through because when you have her praying for you…that was pretty much a direct line to God so you felt like those prayers are getting heard loud and clear. Mary was known for her beautiful smile, warm hugs, sweet spirit, and someone who handed out compliments to everyone in her path. She loved everyone’s shirts, shoes, dresses, eyes, makeup, hair…You name it. She loved it. I would laugh when she would say, “Tina I love that shirt you’re wearing!” It would be my ugly paint shirt that had numerous colors all over it and needed to be thrown away. To her, it was beautiful because it was on ME. Never has there been a more faithful, loving, kind, prayerful, amazing, sincere, joyful, helpful, smiling person in this world. So many people were blessed by her presence and had the honor of calling her their friend.
She is survived by her Husband Ray, her son Brent and his wife Linda, her daughter Tina and her husband Daron. Her grandchildren who she ADORED: Brandon, Emily, Tyler, Ryan, Joey, Jordan Luna (Joey’s girlfriend) , Cassidy and Chad Williams and great granddaughter Brooklyn.
The Family will be hosting a public Celebration of Life for Mary, at Bethany United Methodist Church on August 12 at 2pm. This invitation is opened to those who loved and wish to celebrate Mary's life.
She was an angel amongst us and will be missed immensely.
