Mary Lou is preceded in death by her mother,Juanita Menchaca, husband Raymond G. Ledesma, 2 brothers, Tony and Gilbert, sister Jovita, and Tammi Green, her granddaughter.
She is survived by her sons and daughters, and their spouses, Doris and A.J. Green, Robert and Becky Ledesma, Sylvia Ledesma, Abraham and Eva Ledesma, and Eddie and Melanie Ledesma. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Mary Lou worked as a master tailor for many of Austin's finest men's stores until starting her own business in 1980, Capitol Tailors, later to become Capitol Cleaners & Tailors. Throughout her life, Mary Lou spent countless hours as a volunteer for various community programs including the City of Austin's Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP), and began the 23 year old Arts and Crafts program at the South Austin Senior Citizen Center. In 1998, Mary
Lou was granted the Austin's Five Who Care Award for her many years of volunteer service .
The Ledesma family would like to extend their gratitude to the Lighthouse Altenheim Hospice who took great care of Mary Lou in her final passage.
A Wake will be held 7:00 pm Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home Chapel, 2620 S. Congress Ave. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Oak Meadow Baptist Church, 6095 N. IH-35 frontage Rd. Interment will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
