Elizabeth was a longtime resident of Austin and a graduate of Austin High School. As a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Cathedral, she actively participated in church activities for many years. She took great pride in being a member of the American Lebanon Association (ALA Club). She retired from the American Legion after 30 years of service. She thoroughly enjoyed being an avid volunteer at Seton Hospital for a number of years.
She was devoted to her family. She and her sister, Linda, provided compassionate and expert care for their parents for many years. Elizabeth also became the primary caretaker for Linda in her last years. Her selfless giving was a model for all her family members. She was a pillar of strength and tireless support for all her family, who will miss her greatly.
Out-of-town relatives were always welcome at her house and they enjoyed staying with Elizabeth.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Banoot Joseph; sisters: Minnie Garza, Linda Joseph and Bertha Donnelly; and brother, William Joesph.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving sister, Bessie Debo of Houston; and many nieces and nephews: Frank Garza (Olga), Georganne Joseph, Michael Debo (Hope), Jeanne Tomlinson (Clint), Suzanne Karam (Danny Sr.), Kathy Havey, John Debo (Eileen), Janice Donnelly Davis, D’Cater Joseph (Jeri), Denise Janick (Richard), Theresa Smits (Jim), John Anthony Joseph, Joan de Sosa (David), Charles Joseph (Ania).
Pallbearers will be her great nephews.
