Mary Lou Ivey, 99, of Austin and formerly of San Antonio passed away on the twenty-third of September 2010 in Austin, Texas. She was born on the sixth of September 1911 in Henderson, Texas. Mary attended business school in Dallas, Texas. While there, she met and married Hoyt W. Ivey, her husband for 74 years. They later moved to San Antonio and Mary worked for the San Antonio Independent School District for over 19 years before she retired. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt W. Ivey in 2006. She is survived by two daughters, Frances Dailey and her husband, Felix, of Austin and Jane Ekman of Kerrville; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted Sunday, the twenty-sixth of September 2010, at three o’clock in the afternoon in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. The interment will be in the Eden Cemetery, Eden, Texas.
