Mary Louise Calderon Huerta

Mary Louise Calderon Huerta passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born in Travis County, TX on June 2, 1933 to Beatriz M. and Luis Z. Calderon. She graduated from Austin High in 1952. She married her high school sweetheart, Margarito C. Huerta October 5, 1952. They were happily married for 62 years. They raised five children, 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great- great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Margarito C. Huerta; daughter, Janie Sue Huerta Lindsey; and grandson, John Thomas Villegas. She is survived by her children, Russ (Michelle) Huerta, Mercy (Mark) Gil, Michael (Dolores) Huerta and Mark (Melissa) Huerta. Huerta, Mark Anthony (Danielle) Gil, Matthew (Andrea) Gil, Micah Gil, Miranda Gil, Elias Huerta, Michael Huerta, Leah Huerta, Megan (BJ) Ramon, Justin Huerta, Julia Huerta. Brothers, Luis (Gloria) Calderon and Mike (Ruth) Calderon; sisters, Hattie Saldana and Beatriz Garcia.

Mary was a dedicated homemaker and bookkeeper for Huerta's Trucking. She was a devoted "Momo" providing a loving, nurturing home to her grandchildren. She was always quick to share her wisdom and provide advice to all. She entered the workforce and was a committed employee with Austin ISD until her retirement in May 2002. She was a member of Catholic Daughters at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Laureate Delta Omega Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority since 1974. She served as an officer for many years and attained the highest degree of Torchbearer. She enjoyed working in her garden among her plants. Her happiest moments were cooking and

gatherings with family.

A Rosary will be held on Thursday, May 17 at 7:00 pm at Weed Corley-Fish Funeral Home, the Funeral will be held on Friday, 10:00 am at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
