Born in Groesbeck, Texas on December 8, 1914, Mary was a longtime resident of Dallas, and a member of University Park Methodist Church and the Dallas Woman’s Club. She and her husband Bob Boren became involved in the Dinner Theater business in the 1970’s, and moved to Denver for a period of time, opening the Country Dinner Playhouse there. Mary loved Dallas and only moved to Austin to be closer to family following the death of her husband. Her last 25 years were spent at Onion Creek in Austin, where she was a member of Onion Creek Club and part of a community of good friends and fellow bridge players.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Robert D Boren, and is survived by daughter Jan Boren Nuckolls and Batch Nuckolls, son Toby Jason Chandler and Ann Chandler, grandchildren Christina Chandler Nuckolls, Katherine Danielle Nuckolls, and Jason McDade Chandler, Rhonda Martinez, Sandra Perkins, Terrell Perkins and great-grandchildren; Kaylee Perkins, and Steven Martinez.
The family will receive friends at a Visitation from 3:30 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sparkman-Hillcrest in Dallas. There will be a brief graveside service and time afterward for visiting.
