Marty was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Marie and Jim McEvoy who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Easterling, daughter, Gail Steib of St. Louis, Missouri, niece, Aly Lewis of San Antonio, Texas, and his brothers, Jim and wife, Peggy, Mike and wife, Barb, Thom, and Larry and his wife, Donna.
Marty attended Epiphany of Our Lord Elementary School, Bishop DuBourg High School, The University of Missouri in Columbia where he received a B.A. and St Louis University where he received a Masters in Social Work. After receiving his MSW , he worked for Highland Center in St. Louis, Missouri, Spring Shadows Glen Hospital in Houston, Texas and later, Life Healing Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he held administrative positions. Marty enjoyed a successful career over a 30 year period.
In 1991, Marty and Vicki married and shared a rich and loving life together. Marty loved movies and was an avid reader. He had special interests in history and politics and loved a good debate. Marty was known for his infectious sense of humor and wit.
A Memorial Service and Visitation will be held at Bradshaw Carter Funeral Home in Houston, Texas from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010. Vicki invites family, friends, and colleagues to the memorial service.
