Margaret Ann Rogers passed on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 peacefully at home. Margaret was born February 26, 1953 to the union of Willie Lee Titus and Ora Lee (Allen) Titus.She was the youngest child of three children born to this union.
She professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in the community of Clarksville under the pastorate of the late Pastor W. B. Sutherland. She was a devoted Mission President at Willie Chapel Primitive Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Pastor J.D. Winn until Sunday, November 19, 2005, she united with St. John College Heights Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Michael D. Harvey. She was a faithful member and served in the following capacity. Sunday School teacher, Bible Training Union teacher, Mission II president. She was a faithful member of B.L.H Bradshaw Mission II and Sunday School/B.T.U of St. John District Association serving in various capacities.
She attended Blackshear Elementary School and O. Henry Junior High. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School (Rio Grande campus). She received an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Colorado Tech University.
She was employed at the University of Texas for 20 years with Parking and Transportation Services as an Appeals Officer, where she retired in 2013.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her passion was sewing for her children and making quilts.
Margaret united in marriage to Lester Junior Brewster. To this union three beautiful daughters were born: Paula Kay, Leslie DeShawn and Margaret Elizabeth all of Austin.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; (Uncle) Wilbert L. “Baba” Allen; two brothers Wilbert Lamont Titus, Arthur James Titus, niece; LaTanya Titus, grandchild; Kaneasha Rogers; two aunts, two cousins and one great nephew.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters: Paula Kay (Charlie) Simon, Leslie Brewster and Margaret Brewster, Sister - Cousin Floria Jean Phillips of Kentucky, nine grandchildren : Sileasha, Tamaj, Jamaica, Edward, D’Navion, Ziane, Niya, Connie, Josiah; seven great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces and many other family and friends.
A visitation for Margaret will be held Friday, July 30, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78752. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St John College Heights Baptist Church, 7207 Carver Ave., Austin, Texas 78767. A graveside service will occur Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 12:30 PM at Evergreen Cemetery, 3304 E 12th St., Austin, Texas 78721.
