Margaret Lee (Hoes) Joseph, 87, passed away September 21, 2014, after years with Parkinson’s disease. Now that her life has ended…by His angel hosts attended…He has folded her to His breast…there within His arms to rest.
Born in Thorndale, Texas on September 17, 1927, Margaret was the third of ten children born to William and Clara Hoes of Austin, Texas. She became deaf at age 7 from an illness. She attended the Texas School for the Deaf. Most of her early career was working in dry cleaners. Later in life she was employed at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs from 1970 to 1990. After retirement she loved working in her yard and was an avid reader of mystery books and enjoyed the daily newspaper. She loved her dogs. They were her close companions. At her home away from home, Brodie Ranch Rehab & Healthcare Center, she was known as the “Bingo Queen”. She loved playing Bingo, enjoyed her many friends and was always thankful for the care providers.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents and five siblings. She is survived by her children, Donny Ray Bokor and wife, Barbara and Norma Jean Nanyes and husband Thomas, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m., Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
